Job summary

AWE is offering an office-based placement at Aldermaston near Reading. You will work on risk assessments, safety improvements and support safety management systems while learning from subject matter experts.

You will be studying a science or engineering degree with a 2:2 by August 2027, graduating in 2029 or 2030, and must be a UK national eligible for DV clearance. The role follows a 9-day fortnight, with every second Friday off, and is based on site.

Qualifications

• Studying a science or engineering degree with minimum 2:2 by Aug 2027.
• Graduating in 2029 or 2030.

Responsibilities

• Risk assessments and help identify appropriate control measures.
• Support compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
• Participate in risk-based inspections and use assessment tools.
• Assist in delivering safety initiatives and continuous improvements.
• Build understanding of Safety Management System across projects and facilities.
