Job summary

AWE invites motivated engineering students to join a structured placement at Aldermaston or Burghfield. You will contribute to design work, explore modelling and software, and gain exposure to manufacturing and infrastructure projects.

Applicants should be on track for a 2:2 by 2027 and graduate by 2029/2030, be UK nationals, and be willing to obtain DV clearance. The role is full-time with a 9-day fortnight and onsite work only.

Qualifications

• On track for a minimum 2:2 by August 2027 and graduating in 2029 or 2030.
• UK national with UK passport, willing to obtain and maintain DV security clearance.
• Onsite placement at Aldermaston or Burghfield, Berkshire.

Responsibilities

• Engineering design support for complex technical challenges.
• Systems and digital engineering exploration including modelling and software.
• Exposure to advanced manufacturing processes and production environments.
• Support major civil, construction and commissioning projects.
• Experience areas such as virtual reality testing and analytical modelling.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists and project teams to turn ideas into outcomes.
