Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment is offering a 12-month Year in Industry placement for aspiring engineers. Based at Aldermaston or Burghfield, the role provides hands-on experience across design, analysis, modelling, testing or manufacturing while applying university learning in a high-regulation environment.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, gain exposure to digital tools, and contribute to live projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree relevant to engineering (min 2:2 by Aug 2027).
• Available to join August 2027 and attend site daily.
• British National, eligible for security clearance (SC).
• Willing to relocate to Aldermaston or Burghfield as required.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design, analysis, modelling, testing or manufacturing activities.
• Contribute to development and review of technical information and calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists and project teams to deliver safe, secure outcomes.
