Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd offers a 10-week Safety and Reliability Engineer placement starting June 2027, with hands-on exposure across the product lifecycle and opportunities to support safety and reliability activities for complex weapon systems.

The role is hybrid (2–3 days on-site). Applicants must be a current undergraduate in Physics, Astronomy or Aerospace/Electrical/Electronic, Systems & Safety Engineering, eligible for BPSS clearance, and may progress to a graduate role after the placement.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Physics, Astronomy or Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Systems and Safety Engineering discipline.
• Interest in Safety and Reliability Engineering within the defence sector.
• Willingness to support design teams and implement processes under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of Safety and Reliability Engineering in Defence.
• Support product development across phases from concept to delivery.
• Experience Safety and Reliability techniques such as Hazard Analysis, FMECA, FTA, Safety/Reliability Case Reports.
