Job summary
Hudson Lifting in Portsmouth is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our depot. You will deliver and collect specialist lifting equipment to customers across the region, operating a vehicle under 3.5 tonnes, ensuring safety and great customer service.
The role requires a full UK driving licence (21+), previous delivery experience, good time management and route planning, and a safety-first mindset. Training will be provided for lifting equipment, and you will be a professional representative of
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence and 21+ age for insurance.
- Previous delivery or driving experience.
- Strong time management and route planning skills.
- Experience with GPS/navigation tools.
- Basic understanding of lifting equipment (training provided).
- Calm under pressure, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Safety-first mindset and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver and collect lifting equipment using a 3.5T vehicle.
- Plan routes and delivery schedules with the Depot Manager to meet customer expectations.
- Secure loads according to safety protocols and company procedures.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and maintain transport documentation.
- Act as a professional, courteous representative of Hudson Lifting at every customer site.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle and drive in line with the Highway Code and driver hour regulations.
- Handle delivery issues calmly and effectively.
