Job summary

eTeach UK Limited is seeking a Safeguarding and Welfare Advisor for term-time only, three days per week, to provide frontline student support and assist with safeguarding functions within the college. The role emphasises mentoring, attendance support and collaboration with tutors to enable students to meet learning goals.

Responsibilities

• Support the safeguarding function of the college by dealing with incidents and liaising with parents and carers.
• Liaise with internal and external agencies, local authorities, employers, students, staff to ensure communication and information sharing.
• Maintain student support records and monitor developments, keeping them confidential.
• Responsible for a caseload of students at risk of not completing or achieving learning aims.
• Assess and prioritise referrals according to need.
• Help students identify personal, community, family and college-based issues affecting learning.
• Develop and manage mentoring relationships to address identified needs.
• Provide immediate first-line support to students in crisis or concerns, referring to appropriate bodies.
• Support students individually or in groups in social and emotional development.
• Support students through personal difficulties to aid retention and achievement.
• Support the tutorial process by helping students meet deadlines with tutors and staff.
• Follow up issues affecting attendance and punctuality, providing support to return to college.
