Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Safeguarding Manager for Global Payment in London. You will own the safeguarding framework, ensuring FCA alignment and governance across funds and accounts. The role requires steering reconciliations, policy updates, and cross-functional collaboration to embed controls in fast-paced fintech operations.

You will report on safeguarding effectiveness and incident management, support audits, and drive improvements. Onsite 5-day work arrangement in London is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance or related field.
• Strong background in finance, treasury, or financial operations within a regulated financial services, payments, or fintech environment.
• Solid understanding of FCA safeguarding rules and guidance, particularly as they relate to EMIs and/or PIs under the EMRs/PSRs.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders to implement effective controls.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, safeguarding reporting, and maintaining governance documentation.
• Familiarity with safeguarding mechanisms such as segregated accounts, trust arrangements, or safeguarding insurance options.
• Prior involvement in a safeguarding audit.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the safeguarding framework, ensuring FCA alignment.
• Oversee safeguarding reconciliations for safeguarded funds and segregated accounts; investigate breaks.
• Develop, maintain, and update safeguarding policies and governance docs.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Compliance to embed safeguarding controls.
• Monitor safeguarding risks and define controls and remediation plans.
• Prepare management information and board-level reporting on safeguarding metrics.
• Manage safeguarding-related audits and regulatory engagement; liaise with external auditors.
• Drive continuous improvements in safeguarding processes and controls, including training materials.
