Job summary

Eden School seeks a Safeguarding & Attendance Officer to join a small special school for pupils aged 8-16 with SEMH needs. The role is term-time, permanent, with a salary from £25,568 to £29,128 per year, and 37 hours per week.

The post includes DDSL responsibilities and duties to raise attendance and support pupil achievement. The role requires experience in education or social care, strong safeguarding knowledge, and effective collaboration with parents, carers and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with pupils in an education or social care setting.
• Excellent knowledge of Safeguarding and KCSIE to ensure effective procedures.
• Experience of working with external agencies, such as local authorities and police, including referrals.
• Ability to relate well to young people and support staff with safeguarding strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safeguarding procedures with support from the DSL.
• This role will undertake duties of a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
• Support school in raising attendance and helping pupils to achieve.
• Work within the Pupil Support Team to help pupils reach their potential.
