Job summary

CHS South is recruiting a Safeguarding Officer on a permanent, full‑time basis (35 hours/week). The salary ranges from £34,237 to £37,563 per annum, with a starting point of £34,237. The role focuses on safeguarding learners, promoting wellbeing and maintaining compliant records.

The post requires DBS checks and pre‑employment verification. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with learners, families, staff and external agencies to ensure a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in attendance, safeguarding, pastoral support, education or a similar role.
• Good understanding of safeguarding practices and learner wellbeing.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track learner attendance and punctuality.
• Identify and address attendance concerns through interventions.
• Support safeguarding and welfare concerns management.
• Maintain accurate attendance and safeguarding records.
• Liaise with learners, parents/carers, staff and external agencies.
• Conduct welfare checks and provide pastoral support.
• Promote a positive culture of attendance, wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Produce attendance and safeguarding reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
