Prospere Learning Trust’s CHS South is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to promote attendance, safeguarding and learner wellbeing. The role involves working with learners, families and staff to identify welfare concerns and ensure timely interventions in a safe school environment.

The post is Grade 6, 35 hours per week, all year round, with a starting salary of £34,237. Pre-employment checks apply and the role is permanent and full-time.

Qualifications

• Experience working in attendance, safeguarding, pastoral support, education, or a similar role.
• A good understanding of safeguarding practices and learner wellbeing.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• A proactive approach to supporting learners and improving outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track learner attendance and punctuality.
• Identify and address attendance concerns through appropriate interventions.
• Support the management of safeguarding and welfare concerns.
• Maintain accurate attendance and safeguarding records.
• Liaise with learners, parents/carers, staff, and external agencies.
• Conduct welfare checks and provide pastoral support where required.
• Promote a positive culture of attendance, wellbeing, and safeguarding.
• Produce attendance and safeguarding reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
