Jobbeschreibung

Are you passionate about safeguarding, compliance, and providing excellent customer service? Do you have an eye for detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where your work makes a real difference?

We are looking for a part-time Safeguarding and Compliance Coordinator to join our Schools Safeguarding & Compliance team within the wider Talent Resourcing Team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting Buckinghamshire Council, schools, and external organisations to meet their safeguarding and employment compliance responsibilities.

As part of our dedicated, supportive team, you will help ensure that employees and volunteers working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults are appropriately vetted and compliant with safeguarding requirements. You will also support skilled worker sponsorship, right to work compliance, visa management, and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) processes.

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Safeguarding and Compliance Coordinator to join our HR & OD service. You will provide professional, accurate support on safer employment, Disclosure and Barring Service checks, right to work, visa and sponsorship requirements for Council services, schools and external customers.

What you will be doing
  • Provide clear technical advice to employees, managers, schools and services on safeguarding, DBS checks, right to work and sponsorship requirements.
  • Support the accurate completion and processing of online DBS applications, resolve system queries and help maintain appropriate user access.
  • Manage Skilled Worker sponsorship activity and monitor time-limited visas to support compliance with Home Office requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee and right-to-work information on relevant HR systems and complete regular monitoring checks.
  • Respond to customer enquiries through calls, shared mailboxes, portals and ServiceNow, taking ownership of cases through to resolution or appropriate referral.
  • Develop and deliver practical training and guidance on safeguarding, sponsorship, Single Central Records and DBS processes.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, customer experience, automation and overall service delivery.
