Job summary

Orbit Group is seeking a proactive Safeguarding Officer to join Advisory Services. You will manage safeguarding caseloads, provide expert guidance to colleagues and customers, and contribute to continuous safeguarding improvement across Orbit's portfolio.

You will engage with customers by phone, assess risks, and refer to appropriate services while acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead. Strong collaboration with Local Authorities and emergency services is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience of safeguarding cases in housing or local authority settings.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding adults and children legislation and best practice.
• Proven ability to partner with agencies to achieve outcomes for customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of safeguarding cases within agreed frameworks.
• Engage with customers by telephone to gather information, provide reassurance and safeguarding support.
• Review concerns, conduct risk assessments, and raise alerts to Local Authorities as needed.
• Make referrals and signpost customers to relevant services.
• Act as Orbit Designated Safeguarding Lead to support customers and colleagues.
• Develop relationships with Local Authorities, MARAC, MAPPA, Fire Service and Police.
• Contribute to safeguarding data, trends and outcomes for continuous improvement.
• Represent Orbit in multi-agency settings and safeguarding reviews as appropriate.
