Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Adults Advisor to provide expert safeguarding advice and clinical expertise across all staff groups. The role works with multi-disciplinary teams and partners to promote welfare and safeguarding practices throughout the Trust.

The post holder will drive safeguarding training, contribute to governance, and ensure robust supervision and governance structures. Internal staff and NHS At Risk groups may be prioritised in selection.

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrable safeguarding experience.
• Experience in teaching and training staff.
• Ability to think strategically and plan ahead.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional safeguarding advice to staff across the Trust.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to safeguard patients, the public, staff and the organisation.
• Deliver safeguarding training programmes to staff in line with needs analysis and policies.
• Prepare chronologies for investigations and participate in case conferences as required.
• Attend strategy meetings and safeguarding meetings to support staff.
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records and support audit processes.
• Deputise for the Senior Safeguarding Nurse Specialist.
