THE ROLE

Following a recent acquisition and due to continued growth, our client is searching for a dynamic Business Development Manager who will play a key role in driving new business sales across the UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging with prospective clients, building strong relationships, and closing new deals to expand our client’s customer base. This is a consultative, solution-led sales role where you will work closely with key decision-makers of businesses that operate heavily with fleets to deliver tailored technology solutions that add real value to their operations, with the aim of increasing their productivity and profitability.

If you are a proven new business hunter with experience selling SaaS, Fleet Management, Field Service, or similar solutions, and if you thrive when developing relationships and closing high-value deals, then this is your chance to join a leading tech innovator for the transport industry!

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must have a permanent and unrestricted Right to Work in the UK, with a willingness to travel nationwide. Please note that our client cannot offer visa sponsorship.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline aligned to our client’s strategic sales goals.
  • Identify, prospect and engage key commercial decision-makers within our client’s target audience, with a view to building values-based relationships for the future.
  • Negotiate and close deals by delivering persuasive product demonstrations, sales presentations and commercial proposals.
  • Work closely with Marketing, SDR and Pre-Sales teams to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Establish account profiles and target personas to develop targeted campaigns and proposals.
  • Attend client meetings via Teams & onsite across the UK.
  • Update the CRM system to keep detailed records of interactions and pipeline progress.
  • Provide feedback on market trends and lead quality to the wider team.
  • Work towards monthly and quarterly targets.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a Business Development Manager (BDM) role, preferably within a SaaS or fleet environment, with a track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Experience within fleet management, telematics, field service, or similar solutions would be an added advantage.
  • Skilled in consultative solution selling to B2B decision-makers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Confident and enthusiastic personality, with a dynamic and forward-thinking attitude.
  • Commercially minded, with an ability to understand client requirements and create tailored solutions.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven, with a strong work ethic and a passion for closing deals.
  • Tech-savvy with an interest in the SaaS/Technology/Fleet/Transport sectors, and proficiency with CRM and sales automation tools.
  • A clean UK driving licence with a willingness to travel nationally with occasional travel to our client’s HQ in Limerick, Ireland (typically once per month)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing provider of bespoke fleet management SaaS with a collaborative and supportive team environment. If you have the required skills and experience, please apply today. Alternatively, to discuss the opportunity further, please contact Matt Pallister directly on 0113 332 0678.
