Job summary

Stratospherec Ltd is looking for a skilled backend developer in the United Kingdom to join our Bristol-based team. You will build robust C#/.NET services, develop web APIs, and optimise SQL Server databases in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

The role emphasises performance tuning, data integrity, and modernising legacy applications, with a salary up to £50k depending on experience and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including advanced use.
• C# and .NET experience.
• Relational database design and optimisation.
• Stored procedures, functions, and complex SQL queries.
• Query optimisation, indexing, and database performance tuning.
• Web API development and integration.
• REST APIs.
• Git/source control experience.
• Experience developing and supporting production web applications.
• Debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Agile development methodology experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust and maintainable backend services and application logic using C#.
• Develop and maintain web APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Develop and optimise stored procedures, functions, and queries.
• Analyse query and database performance and implement improvements through query optimisation, indexing, and schema refinement.
• Ensure changes protect data integrity, reliability, and application performance.
• Maintain documentation of important data structures, logic, and dependencies.
• Contribute to the ongoing modernisation and improvement of the SaaS platform.
