Job summary

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE) in Shipley is seeking a Design Engineer to support the development and industrialisation of Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs). You will work within a small multidisciplinary team to modify designs for safety, manufacturability, usability and cost targets, and collaborate with Electrical Engineering to integrate sensors and PCBs.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Siemens NX), and the ability to produce precise

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience working to project budgets with opportunities for cost reduction.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software and creating 2D manufacturing drawings/documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and industrialise Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) in collaboration with design and electrical teams.
• Modify and improve existing machine designs for safety, manufacturability, usability and cost targets.
• Produce high-quality CAD models and manufacturing documentation, and support prototype builds and trials.
