Job Description:

We are seeking applications from candidates with varying levels of experience and/or qualifications to help us grow the Arboriculture team and business. The role is to manage and develop an existing client base throughout England requiring a mixture of field and office-based skills. This position offers a good variety of professional and project work with an emphasis on working with Carter Jonas infrastructure teams, local estates/landowners, and businesses. The role will initially focus on delivering existing infrastructure projects and assisting other members of the team in developing the arboriculture business. The team is based in the Midlands, centered around the Birmingham office, but location can be flexible.

We operate a flexible working policy allowing work from home, other Carter Jonas offices, and much of the work is site-based. We work collaboratively in a relaxed atmosphere but are driven by timely delivery of a high-quality service. The role will focus on tree risk management for large institutional clients and private clients, working as part of a well-supported, dynamic team. We offer a highly competitive salary package, including a fantastic benefits package with a variety of flexible benefits allowing you to choose those that suit your personal circumstances, including purchasing additional leave, health cash plans, cycle to work scheme, and more!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tree risk management surveys and reporting
  • Supervision of delivery of remedial works
  • Assisting the senior members of the team with tree inspections/surveys
  • Reactive tree inspections after storm events
  • BS5837 - Trees in relation to construction, demolition, and planning
  • Pricing tree risk management surveys and inspections

What does it take to be successful?

Candidates ideally should be Chartered Arboriculturists or working towards Chartered status or have the equivalent Arboriculture degree or qualification. The successful candidate will be set up with the appropriate equipment to be a mobile worker, based at home to attend sites throughout the country, with an expectation of attending an office 1-2 days per week to integrate with other Carter Jonas teams to build the presence of the arboriculture service line within the Natural Capital department.

Ideally, you will have a Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in arboriculture/forestry along with good tree, fungi, and disease identification skills. Computer literate, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word as a minimum. A full UK Driving License is required.
