Rural Property Solicitor/FCILEX - Exeter

New opportunity for a driven and commercially minded Solicitor/FCILEX (1-4 years PQE) to join a thriving Rural Property team at a top-tier, award-winning firm.

Whether you're already immersed in agricultural law or come from a commercial property background with a passion for the rural sector, this is your chance to work on high-quality matters with a diverse and loyal client base.

The role
From rolling estates to greenfield developments, your caseload will be varied and rewarding. Expect to advise on:

  • Sales and purchases of farms, estates, and rural land
  • Agricultural tenancies and farming partnerships
  • Estate management and succession planning
  • Rural diversification and development projects
  • Biodiversity, natural capital, and sustainability initiatives
  • Country homes and rural residential property


You'll work closely with landowners, farming families, rural businesses, and institutions delivering practical, tailored advice.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 1-4 years' PQE in Commercial Property or Rural/Agricultural Law
  • A genuine interest in the rural sector and countryside matters
  • Strong communication, drafting, and client care skills
  • A collaborative mindset and a proactive, organised approach
  • Experience in rural property is a bonus but enthusiasm, passion and a willingness to learn are just as important
