Job summary

Market Overton and Somerby Surgeries is seeking a Dispensing Receptionist to support both reception and dispensary teams across our rural GP practices. You will handle patient enquiries, manage appointments, process prescriptions, and assist with stock control while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates will have dispensing or GP dispensing experience, be comfortable with IT systems such as SystmOne, and possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (English and Maths) or equivalent required.
• Good general education and IT literacy essential.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is essential.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming reception for patients and manage appointments.
• Process prescription requests and support the dispensary with dispensing activities.
• Handle stock management, fridge temperatures, and compliance tasks.
• Open/close premises and maintain security and daily operations.
