Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality rugby league training sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or Friday afternoons, approx. three hours per session.
• Monitor and support student performance, behaviour and development on the field and in the classroom.
• Contribute to wider curriculum objectives and ensure student-athletes meet academic and personal development standards.
• Organise and oversee match day activities on Wednesday afternoons, including team preparation, player management and fixtures.
• Manage and arrange fixtures within elite college rugby league competitions.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and student welfare policies.
• Maintain regular communication with the Curriculum Manager regarding progress, attendance and programme standards.
• Promote high expectations, professionalism and a positive sporting culture.
• Leverage experience from professional rugby league to enhance the programme.
• Demonstrate knowledge of player development pathways and safeguarding in an educational setting.
• Exhibit excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

As a Rugby League Coach at a Further Education College in Greater Manchester, you will play a crucial role in developing and mentoring student-athletes. This position involves planning and delivering high-quality training sessions, monitoring student performance, and contributing to their academic and personal growth. You will be part of a dynamic team within a further education environment, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork and working with the academy

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality rugby league training sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or Friday afternoons (flexible schedule), providing approximately three hours of coaching per session.
• Monitor and support student performance, behaviour and development both on the field and within the classroom.
• Contribute to wider curriculum objectives, ensuring student-athletes meet expected academic and personal development standards.
• Organise and oversee all match day activities on Wednesday afternoons, including team preparation, player management and fixture coordination.
• Manage and arrange fixtures within elite college rugby league competitions.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation, including registers and associated administrative tasks.
• Adhere to all safeguarding, health and safety, and student welfare policies, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
• Maintain regular and effective communication with the Curriculum Manager regarding student progress, attendance, performance and programme standards.
• Promote high expectations, professionalism and a positive sporting culture across the rugby league programme.
• Experience working within the professional rugby league game.
• Relevant Rugby League coaching qualifications.
• Strong understanding of player development and performance pathways.
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and best practice within an educational setting.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements:

• Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., Rugby league Level 2 or higher).
