Cleo is hiring backend engineers to join one of our cross-functional product squads, working with engineers, designers, analysts to build features that improve users' financial health.

You will work on our Ruby on Rails monolith, craft data models, APIs, and business logic, and collaborate across squads to ship reliable services with tests, observability, and feature flags. We value ownership, learning, and impact.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Ruby on Rails, building data models, APIs, and business logic in a production monolith.
• Proficient in designing scalable backend services and collaborating with product and design teams.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to team learning and growth.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Rails monolith, building data models, APIs, and services.
• Collaborate with squad and pillar peers to plan and ship features.
• Deliver work with tests, observability, A/B tests, and feature flags.
• Mentor colleagues to help them grow as engineers.
• Contribute to cross-cutting engineering improvements.
• Shape squad work including product ideation and reviews.
