Job summary

J. Murphy & Sons Ltd is recruiting for an RTR Associate with experience in a Shared Service environment to handle general ledger and management accounting tasks in the UK. The role covers VAT/PSA returns, journal maintenance and month‑end processes, with strong MS Excel and Power BI usage.

The successful candidate will work closely with the RTR Senior Accountant, deliver timely reports, and contribute to process improvements using D365 where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Shared Service Centre environment.
• Good knowledge of Finance ERP systems or in a large organisation similar in size.
• Project Accounting experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience using Power BI and data warehouses.
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
• Exposure to VAT returns, PSA returns.
• Proficient in MS Office products.
• Practical knowledge of Project Accounting depending on role.
• Excellent bookkeeping and reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accounting activities to maintain complete and accurate general ledger and management accounts.
• Process information within the RTR area in line with Group Timetable and SSC SLAs.
• Deliver timely and accurate information to the RTR Senior Accountant and Team Leads.
• Maintain journals and supporting documents, schedules, reports and analyses.
• Reconcile Balance Sheet, P&L and Bank accounts, including inter‑company and related parties.
• Prepare month‑end tasks and ad‑hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support RTR functions and innovation projects as required.
