The Worthgate School in Canterbury seeks an experienced RSHE Teacher to deliver high-quality Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) to pupils aged 13+. You will foster a safe, inclusive learning environment aligned with safeguarding expectations and school values.

You will engage students in sensitive discussions, contribute to curriculum development, and collaborate with school nurses, counsellors, and external speakers to enrich the programme while supporting pupils’ personal

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of PSHE and RSHE frameworks, guidance and best practice.
• Experience teaching or facilitating discussions with young people on sensitive subjects.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics calmly and effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting pupil wellbeing.
• Desirable: QTS/PGCE or equivalent and independent school experience.

Responsabilités

• Plan, deliver and evaluate RSHE lessons in line with the scheme of work and statutory requirements.
• Create a supportive classroom climate for open, respectful discussions on sensitive topics.
• Differentiate materials to meet diverse learners’ needs.
• Use varied teaching strategies to promote active participation and life skills.
• Contribute to RSHE curriculum development and integration of safeguarding topics.
• Collaborate with internal/external specialists to enrich the programme.
• Model high emotional intelligence and promote pupil wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding policies and refer concerns appropriately.
• Maintain records and contribute to pupil reports and parent communications.
