Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a vehicle technician to maintain and repair HGVs, municipal and light commercial fleets in Nottingham. You will diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults, prepare vehicles for MOTs and safety inspections, and perform welding and body repairs.

The role requires City & Guilds Level 3 Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering, a Category C licence, and DVSA inspection qualification.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent covering MOT inspection standards.
• Full UK Driving Licence with Category C entitlement - Essential.
• DVSA Inspection & Testing qualification.
• Experience working with HGVs, commercial or municipal vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a Fleet Services team.

Job description

Work Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday

PAYE Pay Rate: £27.12 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role
To maintain, service, inspect and repair a range of Council fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable and compliant with MOT and DVSA standards.

Typical Day Overview

• Service and repair HGVs, light commercial and municipal vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOTs and safety inspections.
• Carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs.
• Attend vehicle breakdowns and accident-damaged vehicles.

• Ensure high standards of health & safety and workshop housekeeping.
