SYOS UK is building its flight operations team and is seeking an experienced UAS Pilot to support the development, testing and operation of autonomous aircraft across air, land and sea.

As RPIC you’ll manage flight planning, regulatory compliance and post‑flight analysis, working closely with engineers to turn aircraft development into real‑world flight operations.

This role requires travel to airfields and other locations, with stays away from home as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 100 hours as RPIC.
• Part 102 qualification or international equivalent.
• Experience within a Part 102 certified organisation or international equivalent.
• Proven experience operating UAS safely in test/operational/development environments.
• Strong understanding of UAS regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.

Responsabilités

• Operate as Remote Pilot in Command across fixed-wing and rotary-wing UAS platforms.
• Support flight development, testing and cross-functional engineering activities.
• Execute flight-test plans safely and effectively, ensuring objectives are met.
• Support flight planning, mission preparation and pre-flight activities.
• Configure UAS hardware, software and mission-specific payloads for trials.
• Conduct pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight activities per procedures.
• Support Flight Operations with scheduling and planning.
• Ensure all flight activities comply with UAS regulations and SYOS procedures.
• Maintain pilot qualifications and operational currency.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
• Follow SMS procedures and contribute to hazard identification.
• Maintain responsibility for aircraft safety and compliance as RPIC.
• Assist in regulatory documentation like SORA and flight-test reports.
