Peterborough City Council is recruiting for the Rough Sleeper Outreach Team within Housing needs. This role involves delivering a holistic outreach service to rough sleepers, offering assessment, referrals and access to services, and supporting data collection for national homelessness statistics.

The successful candidate will experience working with vulnerable people and will participate in outreach at various times of the day or night, contributing to reducing temporary accommodation reliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide a holistic service to rough sleepers through assessment and referral to access services.
• Provide housing and homelessness advice to rough sleepers in outreach settings.
• Support reduction of temporary accommodation expenditure by diverting customers to other avenues.
• Assist the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government with data for homelessness metrics.
• Work with Rough Sleeper Outreach Officers to ensure offers to leave the streets remain relevant.
