Job summary

NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital is seeking a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Team. You will provide autonomous physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice across National Elective Services and the Heart, Lung & Diagnostics divisions, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient‑centred care.

Qualifications

• Hold a Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy.
• Be HCPC registered or awaiting registration.
• Have completed core student placements or relevant post‑graduate clinical placements.
• Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication skills.
• Possess competent IT skills.
• Be committed to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
• Be able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Have a flexible approach to working patterns and service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning and delivering physiotherapy programmes for a diverse patient caseload.
• Managing patient care autonomously while working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Contributing to enhanced recovery pathways across cardiothoracic and orthopaedic services.
• Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date clinical records.
• Participating in audit, service improvement and governance activities.
• Supporting and supervising Rehabilitation Assistants where appropriate.
• Participating in departmental education, training and professional development activities.
• Rotating through specialist clinical areas as directed by the service.
• Contributing to the seven‑day service, including weekend working, late shifts and on‑call commitments.
