As a modern national facility with state-of-the-art clinical services and specialist teams, we help ensure patients across Scotland receive timely, safe and effective treatment.

We are currently recruiting for a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Team, offering an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting patient recovery and rehabilitation across a range of specialist services. The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital provides elective orthopaedic surgery to patients from across Scotland and is home to the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre. As part of our rotational programme, you will gain experience across a range of specialist clinical areas, supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey and contributing to the delivery of exceptional care.

Working alongside physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver safe, effective and patient-centred rehabilitation services.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and progressive environment where your contribution will directly improve patient outcomes and support enhanced recovery following cardiothoracic and orthopaedic surgery. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to gain experience within Scotland’s only heart transplant service.

Key Duties And Responsibilities Include
  • Assessing, planning and delivering physiotherapy programmes for a diverse patient caseload.
  • Managing patient care autonomously while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contributing to enhanced recovery pathways across cardiothoracic and orthopaedic services.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Participating in audit, service improvement and governance activities.
  • Supporting and supervising Rehabilitation Assistants where appropriate.
  • Participating in departmental education, training and professional development activities.
  • Rotating through specialist clinical areas as directed by the service.
  • Contributing to the seven-day service, including weekend working, late shifts and on-call commitments.
About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and patient-focused Physiotherapist who is keen to develop their skills within a national specialist hospital environment.

You Will

  • Be HCPC registered or awaiting registration.
  • Have completed core student placements or relevant post-graduate clinical placements.
  • Demonstrate effective team-working and communication skills.
  • Possess competent IT skills.
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Be able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have a flexible approach to working patterns and service requirements.
  • Experience in Orthopaedics, Critical Care or the NHS would be advantageous but is not essential. Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is desirable.
