Job summary

To provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessments and treatments to Adult Services - outpatient musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Community Neuro Service, Inpatient Therapies (East Ham Care Centre as part of EPCT Therapy Team), Extended Primary Care Teams, Learning Disabilities Service (Hackney) and Emergency Department at Royal London Hospital.This will include assessing and treating patients with a variety of needs providing physical assistance, advice, rehabilitation and emotional support. This post is part of a 4 monthly rotation scheme covering a variety of settings. The post holder will be expected to participate in evening and weekend work for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, the Extended Primary care teams and Emergency Department at Royal London Hospital once deemed competent.

Main duties of the job

1. To accept clinical responsibility as an autonomous practitioner for a designated caseload of patients, and organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and time management.2. To undertake the assessment and clinical diagnosis of patients using investigative and analytical skills; formulation of an individual management and/or treatment programme using clinical reasoning and a range of treatment skills in a clinic, inpatient, community or emergency department setting.3. To understand the continuous assessment and evaluation of the treatment programmes and modify them according to patient needs4. To communicate assessment and treatment outcomes appropriately to Physiotherapy colleagues, medical staff, social care and other professionals in the form of letters and reports.5. To maintain own continuing professional development and develop current knowledge of evidence based practice within each rotation by active involvement in the appraisal process, clinical supervision, in service training, reflective practice and the preparation and presentations of projects as appropriate, incorporating new knowledge and skills into everyday practice as appropriate
