Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading invites applications for a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist on a fixed-term/secondment until September 2027. Rotations cover diverse specialties including surgery and ICU, medicine, elderly care, musculoskeletal out-patients, orthopaedics, neuro-rehab, acute stroke, paediatrics and women’s health, with a 24/7 on-call respiratory and weekend service.

Responsibilities

To be responsible for the efficient, effective and safe management of patients referred to you.
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work.
To have clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and prioritise that work efficiently.
To manage clinical risk within own clinical caseload.
To formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme.
To have knowledge of a range of treatment skills.
To ensure effective discharge planning within the team.
To use theoretical and practical knowledge to advice, guide and teach assistants and students as required.
To provide recommendations and advice to the MDT.
The post requires a flexible approach to working and requires the post holder to undertake weekend and evening commitments as required.
