Job summary

The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shrewsbury is inviting applications for Rotational Pharmacists to gain exposure across main clinical areas. You will join a team of pharmacists and medicine management technicians, with involvement in aseptic preparation and parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals.

The role supports the STEP Up progression from band 6 to band 7 after completion of phase 3, and includes rotational extended hours, weekends and bank holidays as part of the

Qualifications

• Ward-based clinical care experience in hospital settings.
• Postgraduate Clinical Diploma encouraged and funded.
• Rotational pharmacist with progression to band 7.

Responsibilities

• To carry out duties in Clinical Pharmacy Services at ward and department level. Work closely with Consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective and efficient use of medicines.
• To provide technical support in the preparation of a broad range of aseptically prepared medicinal products (PN, Cytotoxic Chemotherapy, Radiopharmaceuticals etc).
• To study for, and successfully complete the Postgraduate Clinical Diploma.
