Grade: Band 5 or Band 6

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Part-time and flexible working hours considered)

Job Purpose

The specialist physiotherapist is an experienced clinician who manages a full specialist clinical caseload independently. They are responsible for supervising designated staff within the specialist team.

• Participate in education, clinical evaluation, audit, and research across the specialty, in collaboration with the Team Lead.
• Work at any of the Trust sites, with bases at Charlton Down Therapies Centre or Weymouth Community Hospital.
• Engage in the required working patterns of the service, including weekend rostered work once deemed competent.
• Consideration for Band 5 to Band 6 accelerator programme for suitable candidates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a diverse caseload of MSK cases, operating at a senior level with clinical autonomy.
• Manage all referrals for adult MSK conditions from various sources, including self-referrals and healthcare services.
• Deliver virtual appointments in line with CSP guidelines, with a focus on tele-rehabilitation.
• Contribute to the inpatient therapy weekend rota, depending on experience.

Qualifications and Experience

• HCPC registration as a physiotherapist.
• Significant MSK experience at Band 5 or Band 6 level (for Band 6 role).
• A growth mindset and willingness to engage in service development.
