Our new system, HIVE is transforming how we provide patient care. Training and opportunities are here for you at one of England’s largest NHS Trusts. Take this Rotational Clinical Pharmacist role on and you will initially be based at one of our Pharmacy Departments either at Oxford Road Campus, Trafford, Wythenshawe or North Manchester, with the prospect of eventually working across all sites and specialties. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from, nationally recognised leads in a range of clinical specialties, enjoying a challenge as broad as it is professionally rewarding.

As you develop your career with us, you will have the benefit of exposure to our range of services that we provide to our local population and those who travel from further afield to access our Regional and National specialist services. During your first year at MFT we will support you through the HEE NQPP then you will be supported through a postgraduate clinical diploma. You will also benefit from our weekly pharmacy wide lunchtime teaching sessions.

We will be holding interviews on Saturday 1st March 2025 at our Oxford Road Campus. If you are shortlisted, please plan for this taking 1.5 hours as there will be an opportunity to attend a presentation from our current band 6 pharmacists about working at MFT, during which you can ask them questions. The rest of the time will be spent undertaking tasks which will test the skills required to be a band 6 hospital pharmacist as well as traditional interview questions.

Main duties of the job

This role also involves covering the Out of Hours Pharmacy Service for the MFT hospitals, whether it is working 24/7 shifts or covering a traditional on-call service you will further develop your clinical pharmacy knowledge, organisational, communication and negotiation skills and decision-making capabilities.

Passion, dedication and motivation are essential here. A confident communicator, you’ll be comfortable working in hospital teams and solving problems under pressure, with an enthusiasm for learning and personal development. You’ll be either registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or be due to complete your Trainee Pharmacist year in July 2025.

We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.
