Job summary

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 post to lead bed management and complex discharge planning within NHS adult wards and CYP units at Stanmore. The role offers a 9-month fixed-term contract or secondment, full-time (37.5 hours per week), located at Stanmore.

The successful candidate will coordinate with the Senior Sister and MDT, manage flow and discharge processes, and support ongoing improvements in patient care within an expanding NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years within an NHS setting at senior B5 level.
• Experience in discharge planning and complex discharges.
• Experience working with patients with cognitive impairment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Teaching experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify complex discharges, liaise with MDT to achieve timely discharges.
• Establish patient pathways to expedite discharge and improve patient flow.
• Bed management across the Trust for NHS adult and CYP patients to ensure smooth patient flow.
