Job summary

Good Hope Hospital is seeking a Chartered Physiotherapist to contribute to assessment, treatment and rehabilitation across diverse clinical areas. The role involves working within multidisciplinary teams and managing a defined caseload with supervision via formal training and peer review.

The post requires participation in seven-day programmes and flexible shifts, with opportunities to supervise physiotherapy students and collaborate with universities to uphold high practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide physiotherapeutic assessment, management and rehabilitation of patients across multiple clinical areas at Good Hope Hospital.
• Work within diverse teams of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers.
• Rotations of approximately 6 months each.
• Participate in seven day working programmes and adapt to various shift patterns.
• Hold responsibility for own caseload and a defined service area with minimal supervision.
• Receive supervision via regular training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences.
• Access advice and support from senior physiotherapists; not all work is routinely evaluated.
• Undertake all clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain records.
• Take part in site on-call respiratory physiotherapy out of hours after training and competence.
• Supervise, educate and assess physiotherapy students to a graduate standard in collaboration with universities.
