Job summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a Rota Coordinator to join the General Internal Medicine (GIM) Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will coordinate rotas, manage leave requests, and support day-to-day deployment of junior doctors to maintain safe staffing levels.

Working with the GIM Management Team, you will assess staffing needs, communicate with staff and managers, and help deliver high-quality patient care while ensuring compliance with national standards.

• To communicate complex, sensitive, contentious information with a range of stakeholders, where persuasion or negotiation is required.
• To exercise judgements when dealing with enquiries and to analyses information to resolve problems.
• To develop and implement plans/work streams and to manage and organise activities.
• To develop and implement administration policies for own area of work.
• To attend meetings both in person and online to share and provide narrative for any gaps in medical staffing along with progress of measures taken to cover the shift and any outstanding actions as well as escalations.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective coordination of the medical workforce across GIM services, supporting safe staffing levels and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a Rota Coordinator, you will work closely with the GIM Management Team to ensure rotas are planned, coordinated, and managed effectively, helping the service achieve operational efficiencies and maintain compliance with national quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating medical staff rotas, managing leave requests, mitigating staffing gaps, and supporting the day‑day deployment of junior doctors. Working in a fast‑paced environment, you will be a key point of contact for medical staff and managers, ensuring services are safely staffed and operationally supported.
