Job summary

Bright Horizons Colchester Day Nursery & Preschool in Colchester is looking for a Room Leader to lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education for children, ensuring their welfare and development. You will maintain safeguarding standards and build strong partnerships with families and professionals.

The role is full time (40 hours, Monday to Friday) with a starting salary of £31,500 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as Room Leader, Nursery Nurse or similar.
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding and child protection requirements.
• Ability to build trust and partnerships with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, support and inspire a team to deliver high‑quality care and education.
• Promote child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding in all activities.
• Maintain strong partnerships with parents and other professionals to meet each child’s needs.
