Job summary

Willing Care Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Room Leader for a welcoming nursery in the UK. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your room and will lead a team of practitioners to ensure high-quality care and education.

This role focuses on hands-on leadership, supporting staff development, and planning engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS. You will build strong relationships with children, families and safeguarding processes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a room in a nursery or preschool.
• Ability to mentor and support practitioners.
• Proven skills in planning age-appropriate EYFS activities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of your room, ensuring high standards of care and education.
• Lead, mentor and support practitioners, encouraging their professional development.
• Plan engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS.
• Encourage children's confidence, independence and individual development.
• Oversee observations, assessments and children's learning records.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and ratios are maintained.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures.
