Previous experience of working within a similar operation is preferred but not essential.

Specific Duties
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions, critical to the successful performance of the position:
- Be aware of the hotel’s layout and facilities.
- Ensure all rooms match the lists provided, reporting discrepancies immediately to the housekeeper.
- Collect laundry and deliver it to the linen room.
- Remove all trays from rooms.
- Open all windows in rooms.
- Place all dirty linen in skips provided.
- Collect clean linen as needed.
- Identify reject linen and store separately for return to the linen room.
- Complete one room at a time to the highest standard and according to the room specification.
- Empty rubbish into black bags and remove to service rooms.
- Understand the cleaning schedule and ensure the correct cleaning products are used at all times.
- Clean bathrooms thoroughly, including basins, baths, toilets, mirrors, tiles, and floors.
- Put clean towels in bathrooms, folded correctly.
- Replenish toiletries as per room specifications.
- Dust all furniture in bedrooms.
- Vacuum bedrooms and corridors daily, including cleaning fire doors and brasses.
- Clean the service room daily.
- Carry out the ‘Job of the Day’ to the highest standard.
- Immediately hand lost property to the Head Housekeeper, noting time, place, and date.
- Report all maintenance faults to the Head or Deputy Housekeeper.
- Ensure rooms are supplied with adequate stationery and hotel information as per room specifications.
- Correct any mistakes given by the Housekeeper and return items at the end of the shift.
- Understand all fire and emergency evacuation procedures and observe health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a smart and clean uniform at all times.
- Attend departmental meetings and participate when appropriate.
- Attend training sessions as requested, including COSHH, health, and safety training.
- Adhere to hotel policies on cash, keys, and controls consistently.
Other
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
- Comply with The Forest of Arden Hotel policies and procedures.
- Work hours as required, normally not less than contracted hours.
