Job summary

Bennet t and Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor to join its project management team. This site-based role covers London and the South of England, overseeing pitched roofing installations, quality control, safety, and programme delivery on occupied sites.

You will support the Contracts Manager and contribute to long-term project delivery with a focus on slating and tiling. A robust background in pitched roofing is essential for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in pitched roof refurbishment, preferably as Principal Contractor or specialist roofing contractor.
• Strong knowledge of pitched roofing systems, including slating and tiling.
• Solid health and safety understanding in construction environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organised, presentable and driven for long-term roles.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical installation of pitched roofing projects across London and the South of England.
• Monitor site teams to ensure quality compliance and safety.
• Maintain documentation and run site inductions and toolbox talks.
• Assist with project planning, subcontractor allocation and programme.
• Attend site meetings with clients, surveyors and subcontractors.
• Manage contract delivery from order receipt to completion.
• Record progress, variations, and support payment applications.
• Keep weekly health & safety, quality and site records up to date.

Job description

A long-established, family-run specialist commercial roofing and external refurbishment contractor is looking to add a Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor to its project management team. Trading continuously since 1979 and working as Principal Contractor across London and the South East, the business delivers roof refurbishment and re-roofing works on existing, occupied buildings across education, industrial, healthcare, heritage, residential block and public sector projects.

This role is site-based across London and the South of England, focused on overseeing the technical installation of pitched roofing projects including slating and tiling. You will support the Contracts Manager from start to finish, making sure quality, health and safety and programme are managed thoroughly on every job. The role would also suit an experienced Roofing Manager or Technical Manager looking for a long-term position with a stable, well-respected specialist.

The pipeline of future projects is extremely healthy, and the business is looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of pitched roofing systems who can hit the ground running.

• Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 (DOE)

Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor Job Overview

• Oversee the technical installation of pitched roofing projects across London and the South of England
• Monitor, inspect and report on site teams to ensure quality compliance
• Ensure the highest standards of quality and health and safety across all projects, producing, implementing and following all relevant documentation
• Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks for direct labour and subcontractors
• Assist with site set up and take down, supporting the wider project management team in delivery

• Maintain site records including weekly H&S, quality and scaffold inspections, site visit reports and toolbox talks
• Visit and inspect sites to make sure the works meet client needs, codes of practice and the company's offer

Pitched Roofing Contracts Supervisor Requirements

• Robust experience in pitched roof refurbishment, ideally within a Principal Contractor or specialist roofing environment
• Excellent technical knowledge of pitched roofing systems including slating and tiling, and their installation requirements
• Practical understanding of health and safety within construction
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Well organised, well presented and articulate
• Ambitious and driven, seeking a long-term role
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
• Full, clean UK driving licence
