Ernest Gordon Recruitment is partnering with a growing specialist contractor in Clitheroe for a Roofer progression role to SHEQ Manager. You will champion safety, quality, and environmental standards across projects and work with senior management, site teams, clients, auditors and regulators.

The role offers training, a clear progression path to SHEQ management, and involvement in audits, risk assessments and site inspections across the UK. 8am-5pm, weekdays with no weekend work.

This role would suit a Roofer or a site supervisor/foreman/manager looking to progress into a SHEQ Manager role with experience in roofing, cladding, facades or construction, knowledge of health & safety legislation, and a passion for continuous improvement who is looking to progress into a management-focused position.

In this role, the successful candidate will be trained to lead SHEQ strategy across the business, carry out site inspections and audits, investigate incidents and non-conformances, support risk assessments and safe systems of work, and work closely with clients, auditors, regulators, and site teams to ensure consistently high standards.

The Role:

• Leading and developing SHEQ strategy, policies and procedures across the business
• Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015, HSE requirements, British Standards, Building Regulations, PAS 9980 and BS 8414
• Investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformances while implementing corrective actions
• Delivering toolbox talks, SHEQ briefings and coaching to site teams and subcontractors
• Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm with no weekend working

The Person:

• Roofer, site manager/supervisor/foreman or similar background
• Experience within roofing, cladding, facades, construction or building envelope sectors
• Looking to get off the tools and be trained up to become a SHEQ Manager
• SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent qualifications (Preferred/can be trained)
