Job summary

Construo is seeking a SHEQ Manager to lead Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance across roofing, cladding and building envelope projects in the UK.

You will develop and implement the company’s SHEQ strategy, carry out site inspections and audits, ensure CDM 2015 compliance and promote a positive safety culture on live sites.

This is a long‑term leadership role offering training, career progression, a company vehicle or car allowance and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in roofing, cladding, façades or building envelope sectors.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and construction compliance.
• Experience with site inspections, audits and QA processes.
• Knowledge of quality management systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing the company's SHEQ strategy, policies and procedures.
• Carrying out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across live projects.
• Promoting compliance with CDM 2015, HSE legislation and company procedures.
• Managing quality assurance processes from project pre-start through to handover.
• Ensuring compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations, PAS 9980 and BS 8414.
• Supporting project teams with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions.
• Maintaining SHEQ documentation, audit records, inspections and management reports.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, auditors and regulatory bodies on SHEQ matters.
• Delivering toolbox talks, SHEQ briefings and coaching to site teams and subcontractors.
• Supporting workforce training, competency records and continuous improvement initiatives.

Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist roofing, cladding and building envelope contractor to recruit a SHEQ Manager to lead Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction, roofing or cladding professional looking to transition into a leadership role focused on compliance, quality and continuous improvement, with full training and long-term career development available.

The Role

As SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's SHEQ strategy, ensuring compliance across roofing, cladding, rainscreen and fire remediation projects while promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the company's SHEQ strategy, policies and procedures

• Carrying out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across live projects

• Promoting compliance with CDM 2015, HSE legislation and company procedures

Requirements

• Experience within roofing, cladding, façades, construction or the wider building envelope sector

• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and construction compliance

• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and quality assurance processes

• Knowledge of quality management systems and construction best practice

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• CSCS Card

• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory, site management, contracts management or quality role

• Ambition to progress into a senior SHEQ leadership position
