Places for People is hiring a qualified Roofer to deliver roofing repairs across domestic properties within your local area. You will travel in a company van, working on pitched and flat roofs, and support general building repairs aligned with roofing tasks.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Roofing or equivalent experience.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Proven roofing repair experience on domestic or social housing.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out roofing repairs across domestic properties including pitched and flat roofs.
• Completing tile repairs, mortar work and general roof maintenance.
• Working to drawn specifications, reports and repair requirements.
• Completing general building repairs linked to roofing work.
• Working to specifications and ensuring health and safety compliance.
• Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers, and wider teams to meet deadlines.
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation.
• Supporting apprentices and contributing to team KPIs.

A £3,000 joining bonus is available for this role. The bonus will be paid in two instalments: £1500 upon joining Places for People and a further £1500 upon successful completion of your probation period, subject to the terms of the scheme.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out roofing repairs across domestic properties including pitched and flat roofs
• Completing work such as tile repairs, mortar work and general roof maintenance

• Working to specifications and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements

• Supporting apprentices and contributing to team performance and KPIs

What your day looks like

• A structured schedule covering repairs and maintenance work
• Travelling between jobs in your company van
• Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
• Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Where you'll work

You will be working across:

• Occupied homes
• Empty (void) properties
• A range of domestic properties within your local area
• Environments involving vulnerable Customers

Essential Criteria (you need to meet all of these to be shortlisted)

• NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds in Roofing or equivalent experience
• Experience carrying out roofing repairs within domestic or social housing properties
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and maintain high quality standards
• Full UK driving licence
• Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the PE postcode

Nice to have (not essential)

• Experience carrying out general building repairs
• Experience working across multiple trades
