Job summary

Sheridan Maine London is recruiting a Romanian-speaking Accountant to join an established North West London practice. You will deliver high‑quality accounting and taxation services to a diverse client portfolio, building strong client relationships.

The role requires fluency in Romanian and English, and UK accounting experience. You will work with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks and support management accounts, VAT, and statutory filings.

Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience in a UK practice.
• Fluency in Romanian and English, written and spoken.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and tax computations.
• AAT/ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts for clients (limited companies, sole traders, partnerships).
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Assisting with personal tax returns and self-assessment submissions.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns in compliance with HMRC.
• Producing management accounts and client financial reports.
• Maintaining accurate records and overseeing bookkeeping activities.
• Managing client queries and providing accounting and tax support.
• Communicating with Romanian-speaking and English-speaking clients.
• Ensuring statutory deadlines and regulatory requirements are met.
• Supporting the wider team with ad hoc accounting and tax matters.
