Job summary

Sheridan Maine is recruiting a Romanian Speaking Accountant to join an established North West London accountancy practice. The role involves delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services to a varied client portfolio, using Romanian and English to communicate with clients and colleagues.

Ideal candidates will have UK practice experience, fluency in Romanian and English, and qualifications such as AAT, ACCA or ACA, with knowledge of Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• UK accountancy practice experience.
• Fluency in Romanian and English, written and spoken.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and tax computations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Assist with personal tax returns and self-assessment submissions.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring HMRC compliance.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports for clients.
• Maintain accurate financial records and oversee bookkeeping activities.
• Manage client queries and provide accounting and taxation support.
• Communicate with Romanian-speaking and English-speaking clients.
• Ensure statutory deadlines and regulatory requirements are met.
• Support the wider team with ad hoc accounting and tax matters.

Romanian Speaking Accountant | North West London | Up to £45k p.a.

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting for a Romanian Speaking Accountant to join an established accountancy practice based in North West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant with strong technical skills and fluency in both Romanian and English to join a busy, client-focused practice. Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality accounting and taxation services while building strong, lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities of the Accountant will include:

• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Assisting with personal tax returns and self-assessment submissions.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Producing management accounts and financial reports for clients.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and overseeing bookkeeping activities.
• Managing client queries and providing accounting and taxation support.
• Communicating with Romanian-speaking and English-speaking clients.
• Ensuring statutory deadlines and regulatory requirements are met.
• Supporting the wider practice team with ad hoc accounting and tax matters.

The successful Accountant will have:

• Previous accounting experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
• Fluency in Romanian and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and tax computations.
• AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage client relationships.
• A proactive, professional and client-focused approach.
