Job summary

Barrington James Drug Discovery & Preclinical is seeking an Animal Technician to support a busy research facility. You will contribute to day-to-day animal care, welfare, and cleanliness, focusing on rodents within a BSU, collaborating with the broader research team.

The role requires prior experience with laboratory rodents, a strong understanding of husbandry, and the ability to follow established procedures in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with laboratory rodents within a BSU
• Strong understanding of animal husbandry and welfare
• Experience working in a regulated laboratory or research environment
• A PIL would be advantageous, although candidates without a PIL will also be considered
• Reliable, organised and confident working as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following procedures

Responsibilities

• You will support the day-to-day running of the animal facility, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, husbandry and cleanliness are maintained.
• You’ll work closely with the wider research team and contribute to the smooth operation of the facility.
