Job summary

The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Surgical Care Practitioner to join their Theatres team on a bank basis. You will support surgical interventions in robotic procedures across multiple specialties, with duties including tissue handling, suction, haemostasis, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold NMC or HCPC registration with post-registration qualification.
• Proven theatre experience and competence in assisting with surgical procedures.
• Experience in robotic surgery across urology, gynaecology, general, colorectal or thoracic procedures.
• Excellent understanding of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique and intraoperative patient care.
• Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills with compassionate, patient-centred care.
• Experience across multiple surgical specialities and familiarity with surgical tracking systems.
• Involvement in quality improvement initiatives or audit participation.
• Evidence of CPD and engagement in surgical education or research.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical interventions under supervision of the operating surgeon.
• Carry out tissue retraction, suctioning, irrigation, haemostasis and wound closure where competent.
• Make clinical decisions and exercise professional judgment per guidelines.
• Complete operative records accurately for the surgeon.
• Assist in collecting post-operative outcome data and audit forms.
• Contribute to quality governance through accurate clinical records.
