Online Oceans in Southampton, UK is seeking a Software Engineer (Robotics) to own substantial parts of SentryOS, the Linux-based software on our autonomous boats. The role combines embedded systems, flight-control integration over MAVLink, and keeping Starlink and Iridium links reliable during trials at sea.

You will develop simulation, hardware-in-the-loop tests, and ship updates safely to boats far from shore.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building software for robots, drones or embedded systems.
• Deep practical Linux (systemd, networking, serial, embedded boards).
• Strong Python.

Responsabilités

• Own large parts of SentryOS, the Linux software on Scout boats.
• Integrate flight control over MAVLink and keep satellite links reliable.
• Build simulation and hardware-in-the-loop tests; ship updates safely to boats at sea.
