Job summary

Unipart Technologies Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to contribute to the software development and testing of Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) and Fleet Management System (FMS), with on-site and remote support.

You will implement vision and localisation algorithms, hardware interfacing, ROS/ROS 2, Modern C++17 and Python 3, and collaborate with AMR stakeholders while adhering to SLAs and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with ROS/ROS 2 and ROS 2 Lifecycle (Managed) Nodes.
• Proficient in Modern C++ (C++17) and Python 3.
• Hardware interfacing with CANopen, SocketCAN, serial/UART.
• Experience with multi-robot path planning or routing algorithms (A*, graph routing).
• Full UK Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for live operations to ensure compliance with customer SLAs (Nuneaton).
• Develop, maintain, optimise and test software for AMR and FMS.
• Design and deploy performance-optimised vision processing and localisation algorithms.
• Hardware interfacing with CANopen, serial interfaces, and Ethernet networks.
• Collaborate with AMR stakeholders and support live system operation on-site and remotely.
