Job summary

Humanoid in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Tech/Prototyping Engineer to turn CAD/BOM into working prototype hardware for its end effectors and user interfaces. You’ll run the prototyping shop, assemble test rigs and support hardware testing in a fast-paced environment, directly shaping what the design team builds next.

You'll prototype with MCUs like ESP32 and Raspberry Pi, use 3D printing and basic machining, and maintain an organized shop with fasteners and components.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years hands-on hardware prototyping or robotics experience.
• Practical skills with 3D printing, hand tools, basic machining, soldering, and cable harnessing.
• Ability to prototype quickly with MCU platforms (ESP32, Raspberry Pi).
• Comfort reading CAD drawings and BOMs; CAD design capability a plus.
• Experience building test rigs and supporting hardware testing/demos.
• Organized, fast-paced, iterative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and maintain prototype hardware from CAD/BOM to working units.
• Operate 3D printers, CNC machines and workshop tools to produce parts to spec.
• Prototype with MCU platforms such as ESP32 and Raspberry Pi for test rigs.
• Build, set up and run test rigs and validation jigs for durability and testing.
• Support hardware testing, trials and demos, with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Deliver prototype builds within tight timelines to stay pace with iterations.
• Maintain organized prototyping shop and parts inventory.
• Feed back build issues into design decisions.
